On May 22nd, 2012 I visited the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces in Brussels, Belgium. They have quite an amazing collection there of all things related to military history, but the highlight is definitely the massive aviation hall. Some areas of the aviation hall are a bit decrepit and in fact are currently blocked off for urgent renovations but you can still see the majority of the collection on display. It is very diverse from very rare World War 1 era aircraft to modern-day fighters such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon and everything else in between including helicopters! Not everything was specifically operated by Belgium as there is aircraft from France, Germany, the former Soviet Union and other countries. The eclectic mix makes for an interesting days visit with numerous rare aircraft.
The following is just a small sample of what you can see in the aviation hall.
Plus so much more…..
World War 1
It’s a big collection!
