2014: The Return of the USAF Thunderbirds

With the relaxing of the budget, 2014 has seen a limited return to the US air show circuit of the military jets including the USAF Thunderbirds display team. I was lucky enough to see them fly twice this year already. Admittedly it was over two days at the Tampa Bay Air Fest in Florida but each day was slightly different and to me it didn’t matter. I could watch them all day any day! It was so good to see and hear the fast jets fly once again after about a 12 month hiatus!

  1. Do the T-birds still do the one where one of the solo pilots comes up low and from behind surprising the audience? It’s one of my favorite moments in their show 🙂

  2. PS — the Blues were the first time I saw and so are a favored by me as well 🙂 Back in the day when I saw them they flew supersonic passes in their F11F Tigercats (later redesignated F-11) and that was a lot of fun to experience.
