Aviation Nation 2016: USAF Heritage Flight
USAF first and fifth generation jet fighter air dominance was on display at Aviation Nation 2016 and made for a perfect grouping during the USAF Heritage Flight. To see an early 1950’s era North American F-86 Sabre flying alongside todays stealthy Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and the new Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter was fantastic and shows incredible progress in 60+ years of jet fighter design!

Great photos! The size even of the F-35 against the Sabre is a pretty clear testament to the direction of development over the years, quite apart from the designs.
Thanks! Yes they are big fighters, even though the F-22 is a twin engine design the F-35 looks a similar size in profile, it is only the top pass that reveals the true size of the F-22
