Radom Air Show 2017 – MiG Magic!
Seeing active service Mikoyan Gurevich fighters in flight has always been on my aviation wishlist. The Radom Air Show 2017 in Poland has made a dream come true with plenty of MiG magic in the form of Polish Air Force Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum and Romanian Air Force Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-21 LanceR C jet fighters (the LanceR was upgraded in Israel and Romania with new avionics, radar and weapons systems, enabling it to deploy a range of Russian and western weapons. The LanceR C is the air combat variant).

Flying Displays
These Soviet designed Cold War era fighters were great to see. The MiG-29’s were as loud, fast, maneuverable and smokey as I could have hoped for and the MiG-21 LanceR impressed with fast and low passes along the crowdline! Great displays!

I have serious MiG fever! Luckily this will not be the last time I see MiG’s fly this European air show season…

It was a great weekend! Off to a NATO show next weekend in the Czech Republic. A Slovak MIG-29 is due to fly there.
