Technik Museum Speyer – Soviet & Warsaw Pact Tech

In addition to the aircraft flown by East Germany, the Technik Museum Speyer also has plenty of other Cold War era Soviet and Warsaw Pact aircraft in its halls and airpark. It’s pretty cool to enter the belly of a Beast from the East as you walk inside a huge 1960’s era Antonov An-22 Cock strategic airlifter (not the worst NATO name assigned to a Soviet aircraft)!

For the Yak-27R reconnaissance variant, the radome and radar of the Yak-27 Flashlight interceptor were replaced with a glazed nose for an observer/navigator, two cameras were added and the Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23 cannon was deleted from the port side of the aircraft. Technik Museum Speyer
